CHRISTMAS DELIGHTS ON A FRIENDLY BUDGET
Christmas time is all about enjoying oneself and spending quality time with your loved ones. We all love to go crazy in the kitchen cooking dishes that bring nostalgia and joy. It also can bring with it a lot of dread and stress. The food bill can be overwhelming on top of everything else.
It got me thinking of ways we can create an outstanding, memorable dinner but for less. Dressing up a supermarket round of cheese, adding some Christmas spice along with decorative herbs from the garden to make it become a stunning centrepiece Serving a brined roast chicken to make it standout and be talked of for years to come. Simple tricks like saving old bread and storing it in the freezer to be turned into delectable balls of stuffing. Homemade gravy and how about a traybake of roasted vegetables to finish it off.
I haven’t forgotten about dessert and this year I am going simple with a classic Eton mess which is an ensemble of meringues, strawberries and cream. Enough said!
